Stuart and Francine Murray who are the growers, are passionate about bringing the beauty of their peonies to people’s lives. Each peony is hand cared for and every detail is cared about considerably. Open since 2014 and available for international export, these peonies are fantastic flowers for those who are looking for those extra professional touches.

RHODODENDRONS

Rhododendrons are grand and beautiful. They come in a wide range of colours and are enough to turn anybody’s head. Simply put, they are a sheer delight to look at and with their easy care and low maintenance growth habits, they seem to be a favourite amongst our Kiwi gardeners.

RHODO DIRECT

Seeing as Lisa and Stephen have dedicated their entire garden to Rhododendrons and Mollis Azaleas, you would be right in guessing that their passion for the flowers runs deep.

Rhodo Direct has over 450 different varieties of Rhododendrons, and they are specialists when it comes to rhodos.  They encourage you to walk through the rhododendron display garden to look at the different flower trusses and foliage of the rhododendrons and azaleas.

Rhodo Direct’s garden and nursery is open from 10am to 4pm, seven days a week, until Christmas, and rhododendrons are available to be purchased either online or directly through the nursery when visiting. With some long-standing fantastic relationships with customers, it is easy to see why Rhodo Direct is so popular here in Selwyn!

SOUTH PACIFIC ROSES

South Pacific Roses works extremely hard to bring to you a vast array of beautiful roses to choose from and they are more than passionate about the roses they grow. They want you to enjoy your roses for as long as possible, providing instructions on how to maintain and care for them.  

Open seven days a week from 8:30am until 5:00pm Monday to Friday, and 10:00am until 4:00pm on Saturday and Sundays, you won’t be disappointed with the quality of roses South Pacific Roses has to offer. The nursery is a fantastic place to choose and come away with roses of your own, and we've been told that once November comes around, the roses will start to flower! Looks like we will be penciling in our own visits for that time of year!

SOUTHERN WOODS

Established in 1987 as a specialist producer of tree seedlings, Southern Woods has since only continued to grow under the watchful eye of a fantastic and dedicated team, committed to producing millions of trees per year (of 500 species!). 

Southern Woods aims to improve the productivity of their customers’ lands by using trees. They hold a wealth of knowledge they are only too happy to share regarding ongoing support and advice regarding their tree seedlings and how to grow and maintain them.

Just by visiting their website you will get an idea of the vast range of shrub, trees, climbers, perennials, amongst many others that they can provide you with!

DARFIELD ECO GARDEN CENTRE
51 South Terrace, Darfield, Christchurch

Darfield Eco Garden are the local distributors of King Seeds and Worm Fert. They have a wide range of products including perennials, annual, organic seed mix, potting mix, bedding, berries, fruit trees, veggie plants, scrubs and many more! 

The Garden is a community run garden and environmentally sustainable! With so much to choose from, you can be certain you will find what you are looking for here. 

WEST MELTON PLANT NURSERY
40 Wylies Road, West Melton

West Melton Plant Nursery is a longstanding nursery that is open to the public seven days a week. 

It has a vast range of plants, shrubs, and trees. From rhododendrons, to camellias, to a particular focus on fruit and citrus trees and vegetables plants, you will not be disappointed with your selection.

This nursery is particularly popular amongst the Rolleston community, and we are not surprised to see why with such glowing reviews coming from their customers. However, with that said, West Melton Plant Nursery welcomes visitors from all over the place to come and see what they have on offer! 

And with eftpos, cash and bank transfer options available, you will find yourself short on reasons to stay away. With so many options including vegetable seedlings to take home, you might have to do a couple of trips!
