Vintage shopping has become somewhat of a pastime amongst many of us. Those rare pieces of treasure hidden away can feel a lot like winning a golden ticket!
Selwyn has a number of cherished second-hand shops and vintage stores and it is a great opportunity to bring a preloved item back to its former glory. It is exactly why we have put together a list of some of our favourite stores here in Selwyn.
We have heard on more than one occasion that this might well be one of our best thrift stores.
It has it all! From quality furniture to clothing, shoes to toys, books to homewares and merchandise, you really will find just about everything at this store.
The volunteers who run this shop have received some glowing reviews about their kindness and helpfulness. And, as a past winner of the Lincoln Envirotown Responsible Business Awards for environmentally sustainable business practices, there really is no denying that Twice As Nice will leave us feeling twice as good about where we shop.
With the profits going back into the Burnham community, why not come away with some great quality purchases, all the while knowing you’re giving back to your community?

Stocking 14+ size women’s clothing, both new and preloved, Kristy has made it her mission to share with Kiwi women her love of fashion and her knowledge on brands and how to best wear them.

With a wicked sense of humour, she will have you laughing, and in the end, feeling more confident than ever in styles that you know will have you feeling great wherever you go.

Carols Closet is a fantastic experience in Hororata.
Now into its sixth year, the Closet is a well-established ladies pre-loved clothing and accessories boutique. The prices are very reasonable as everything is donated by their generous friends and community. They believe in recycling in what they deem to now be a throw-away-world, and in the spirit of giving back.
All of the store’s money is donated to St. John’s Church in Hororata. The team at Carol’s Closet are all amazing volunteers who give their time freely.
If you have a few hours to spare on any of their open days they are always looking for more people to get involved in the community and it is a wonderful way to meet people.
Carol’s Closet has also won a Selwyn Communities Award which highlights just how much the community appreciates their efforts. If you would like to be involved, you can contact Carol on 021 245 6633.
