It’s what we’ve all been crossing those days on the calendar off for. Our Kiwi summer has arrived! And nothing says summer quite like refreshing cocktails and good company.

Lucky for you, we have compiled a list as to where you can get the best cocktails. Because there’s nothing better than a worst kept secret now, is there?

Black Door Bar and Eatery

Set within a revamped 138-year-old historic home and sitting on 1000sqm of beautifully landscaped garden, your cocktail will be accompanied with a side of elegance at Black Door.

We highly recommend the Summer Sage cocktail, with bourbon lining the drink, its subtle vanilla, oak, and caramel notes compliment the citrus of the limoncello. And who could ask for more than apricot jam being involved!? We just know that this is the perfect drink for summer.

Union Fare Eatery

Open seven days a week from 8am–9pm, you can rely on the Union Fare for a fantastic cocktail no matter the hour.

Located on Springs Road in Prebbleton, this restaurant and bar is designed for everyone’s needs and with a recently revamped cocktail menu, trying out the new cocktails is a must!

The Prebbleton Lady looks so good you almost can’t bring yourself to drink it! With grenadine, cranberry, lime, and pineapple supporting its wild rain vodka base, this is a fruity must-have for any vodka lovers out there!

The Pedal Pusher

Who can say no to live music that gets those warm fuzzy feelings going during your time with friends and family?

Located at 55 Faringdon Boulevard in Rolleston, the Pedal Pusher is a premium Gastro Pub that by no means has let ever let their customers down on their wide-ranging drinks menu!

Their Strawberry Fizz cocktail is a sure winner! With the base of Cointreau, and the idyllic sweet tastes of summer and strawberry pleasuring your tastebuds, you will leave as one very happy customer!

Terrace Downs is an idyllic, top tourist establishment. In fact, it is so popular it has been rated as one of the most prestigious and unique high-country resorts in the South Island!

Boasting an impressive 18-hole, par 72 championship course that features four different tee positions with 10 lakes and over 60 bunkers, it is simply paradise.

Wind down with their renowned Hokey Pokey bourbon summer cocktail. A cocktail made with honey bourbon, cream, milk, golden syrup and with an added crushed crunchie bar over ice. Sweetly refreshing for those hot summer days!

The Laboratory

As an active supporter of the arts within Selwyn, you will be impressed by the entertainment The Laboratory has to offer.

Located at 17 West Belt in Lincoln, there is no better place to be! Conveniently located centrally so that their customers can make themselves at home and become part and parcel of the story of bustling entertainment Lincoln has to offer!

The Lab's Feijoa Mojito goes down a treat with white rum, notes of mint and feijoa juice and Lemmy lemonade. If your mouth isn’t watering by now at the thought, then we must assume you have lost your mind!

QUARTZ

How does a successful and bustling restaurant manage to provide each of their customers a relaxing and five-star experience? QUARTZ in Rolleston definitely knows how!  

Known for its excellent service, friendly faces and timely orders, QUARTZ is an all-time favourite, again and again with its customers.

Located on 82 Rolleston Drive, and open from 5pm, it is there to serve all your hospitality needs and includes a courtesy van that operates outside of the Rolleston area. So, you can enjoy your night knowing you can get home safely.

Another Rolleston favourite of ours! Located on 871 Jones Road, The Silver Dollar Bar and Restaurant is guaranteed to spice up your summer days and evenings.

It’s a local and non-local favourite with great meals and great cocktails at reasonable prices (we know, that’s unheard of these days right!?), and there’s no escaping the fact that these cocktails were designed uniquely to please just about everyone.

If you want to relax, you have a choice of doing so in the indoor surroundings or just as much in the sun-soaked courtyard which is a favourite by far.

You will be hard pushed to find anybody who wasn’t a fan of their special cocktail the Rebel Royale which has a stunning set of tones and flavours that will have any palette asking for more!
