The garden is a tranquil oasis of sunshine, birdsong and peacefulness. In 2019, Dalkeith became a member of the New Zealand Gardens Trust.
Established in approximately 1955 by the Simpsons, who were descendants of early settlers in the district, Dalkeith is a 4 acre garden sited at 437 Boundary road. It is full of mature rhododendrons, magnolias, maples and other exotic and native trees. Our objective when we moved here was to rejuvenate the garden and this goal has been largely achieved by clearing and replanting. As a result, the garden is a tranquil oasis of sunshine, birdsong and peacefulness. In 2019, we became members of the New Zealand Gardens Trust.
The garden is open by appointment, entry is $10 per person. Please phone to book.
