Broken River: BBQ Bake Off and Home Brew Competition

Enjoy a unique, fun-filled day on the slopes at Palmer Day Lodge! Connect with BBQ and home brew enthusiasts, learn new tricks, and enjoy a vibrant social atmosphere. A large electric BBQ and utensils also provided for your convenience.

Our local BBQ chefs and home brewers battle it out to see who can produce the finest culinary BBQ delight and/or best brew of the year. If you have a flair for food or are a keen home brewer - or would just like to give it a go, then join us! Every year our contestants come up with a new range of sumptuous delights.

There are two food categories:

1. Country fair bakes off section - where you bring along something you made at home to be judged.

2. BBQ Cook Off – where you create your BBQ culinary delight in front of the judges (you can bring prepared sauces or wraps to go with your main BBQ dish) on the Broken River BBQ. 

BBQs and brews go hand in hand.

Bring your best homebrew for our judges to taste. This might be your finest beer or elderberry wine.
