Are you ready to uncover treasures and win amazing prizes? This passport is your key to both.
Pick up your Summer Selwyn passport, follow the clues, visit each location, and collect a sticker or stamp along the way. Every stamp gives you another entry into the Jackpot prize draw, with incredible prizes contributed by local Selwyn businesses!
From 19 January to 1 February, we’ll be posting treasure hunt clues on our selwyn.nz, on our Facebook and Instagram @selwyn.nz.
Solve the clue by selecting the right location from your passport, and visit to collect a sticker or stamp in your passport. Each one collected gives you one entry into the jackpot prize draw!
At the end of the competition, anyone who has collected at least five stickers or stamps will be entered into the draw for the jackpot prize! Just send a photo of your completed passport to tourism@selwyn.govt.nz by 1st February 2026.
Step 1: Pick up your Selwyn Passport
Your adventure starts with a Selwyn Passport. Collect one from participating Council locations from 7 January. There’s limited stock, but if you miss out, you can download and print a Summer Passport to join the fun.
Step 2: Follow the clues – they’ll lead you to Selwyn’s hidden gems.
Each day during the two-week hunt, a new clue will be shared on this page and across Selwyn.nz social channels. Follow us on Instagram and Facebook to stay in the loop.
Step 3: Explore and collect – each sticker or stamp you earn counts as one entry into the draw.
Crack the clue, visit the location, and collect a stamp or sticker in your passport. Every stop is a chance to uncover a hidden gem and earn an entry into the prize draw. Keep an eye out for hidden stamps at some locations (like the fairy door at McHughs Forest Park).
Step 4: Snap and Share
Don’t forget - you can score bonus prizes by sharing photos of your Selwyn adventures on social media using #SelwynTreasureHunt.
Step 5: Enter the Jackpot
Collect 5 or more stickers or stamps and send an email of the sticker / stamp page from your Summer Selwyn passport to tourism@selwyn.govt.nz by 1 February, 9pm to go in the draw to win the jackpot prize.
Winner will be drawn on 6 February at Selwyn District Council offices. Full Terms and Conditions are here

Prizes are not transferable, exchangeable, or redeemable for cash. Some prizes contain alcohol (e.g., Melton Estate wine) and will only be awarded to winners aged 18 years or over. If the drawn winner is under 18, an alternative non-alcohol prize of equal value will be substituted. The Promoter reserves the right to substitute any prize with one of equal or greater value if required.
