Join us for the annual Harvest Festival, a vibrant local event celebrating the best of Selwyn’s food, drink, and community spirit. The festival highlights local producers, eateries, and fun entertainment.

This is a FREE event.

  • Farmers' Market: Explore stalls featuring Selwyn’s incredible local producers, growers, and wineries.
  • Tastings and demonstrations: Experience the rich flavors of Selwyn with hands-on opportunities to learn about our local food and drink.
  • Family-friendly activities: See the farmyard animals, enjoy pony rides, bouncy castles, face painting, amusement rides and hay bale maze.
  • Entertainment: Enjoy live music and a vibrant atmosphere.
  • Community showcases: Discover displays from community gardens, showcasing creativity and sustainability.

Scarecrow Competition

Get creative and be part of this year’s Harvest Festival Scarecrow Competition – a fun way for schools, whānau and community groups to join in Selwyn’s much-loved autumn celebration.

Build your own scarecrow using sustainable materials to display at the festival. Silly, clever or creative – we can’t wait to see them all, with great prizes up for grabs!

•    Fill out the entry form online
•    Create a scarecrow from recyclable and sustainable materials 
•    Drop it off the day before the Harvest Festival 

Judging will take place at 1pm on Saturday 14 March, with winners announced shortly after.
