Expressions of interest

Producers

The festival will feature stalls for local growers and producers to showcase and sell their products. This is a fantastic way to:

  • Share your story and connect directly with the Selwyn community.
  • Promote the amazing produce grown in Selwyn.
  • Connect with other businesses.
  • Highlight other products you sell that have a connection to autumn and harvest.

We welcome you to include products that complement the harvest and autumn theme.

Next Steps

If you’re interested in participating as a stallholder, please complete the Expression of Interest (EOI) form by 21 February.

We encourage you to submit your form as soon as possible to secure your spot. For any questions or further details, feel free to reach out to us.

We are excited to work together to make the Harvest Festival an unforgettable celebration of our local community, talent, and produce. We’d love to have you on board!

Schools

We’d love to see your school represented at the festival! Here are some ways to get involved:

  • Showcase your school garden: Share your students’ gardening efforts and sustainability stories with the community.
  • Educational displays: Create fun, interactive displays on composting, growing vegetables, sustainability, or attracting beneficial insects.
  • Top Team Challenge: Register a team with a minimum of 6 students plus one adult to compete in interactive challenges that promote teamwork, communication, and problem-solving. Designed to be inclusive, Top Team encourages maximum engagement and builds confidence among students of all abilities. The event will take place from 11am to 12pm with limited places, so early registration is encouraged!
  • Scarecrow competition: Schools, students, and families are invited to design creative scarecrows for display at the festival. There’s no limit on entries and larger schools are welcome to submit multiple scarecrows for a chance to win fun prizes.
  • Creative activities: Host a workshop or performance that celebrates your school’s creativity and connection to the harvest theme.
  • Food displays: Present dishes made from your school garden produce.

We encourage you to register early to secure your spot in the Top Team event or submit your scarecrow entry!

If your school is interested or if you’d like to discuss ideas further, please email luke.rathgen@selwyn.govt.nz or complete the Expression of Interest form.

Eateries

Feature harvest-inspired dishes: Add a harvest-inspired dish (or dishes) to your menu or rename an existing menu item to reflect and celebrate autumn.

While incorporating locally sourced Selwyn ingredients is preferred, it’s not required—you can still participate with creative and seasonal dishes.

Be part of our campaign: Your eatery will be featured in a marketing campaign encouraging people to explore Selwyn and discover harvest-themed dining experiences. This campaign will run alongside the Harvest Festival to drive customers to your establishment.

 Benefits of participation
  • Access to promotional tiles for social media to help highlight your participation.
  • Increased visibility through district-wide promotion.
  • Association with a high-profile community event celebrating Selwyn’s unique food and drink story.
  • Opportunity to attract new customers and strengthen connections with existing ones.
