Straight 8 Estate is located at the top of the Canterbury Plains half an hour drive south of Christchurch in the Burnham area. The vineyard was planted in the mid 1980’s through to 1992.
We produce an award winning range of single vineyard wines including Rose, Riesling, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir that express our terroir and flavours, giving you great wines that will cellar well.
Our cellar door is open 7 days a week, where practical and licence allows us, from 9am till 6.30pm, we like to keep it casual and relaxed, usually Georgie the vineyard dog won’t be far away to greet you, give you the welcoming sniff and check you out for food.
We pride ourselves on a welcoming relaxed environment, plenty of chairs to relax in, space to wander around, definitely not stuffy and imposing, ready to answer any questions. The wine tasting is free, an added bonus, and with our prices you will be happy to purchase.
At Straight 8 we bottle what we grow, living up to our philosophy, real wines at a real price, with prices ranging from $15 thru to $25, and there is always a cellar door special (don’t be scared to haggle especially if James is on duty you never know what the deal might be!)
