In the Mountains
Buried deep in the snow zone at 1,640 meters, the Top Hut is that rarest of accommodation options in New Zealand- a lodge that combines alpine comfort and ski-in ski-out convenience.
The Top Hut is the neat confluence of any serious skier’s needs and wants — the most luxurious bunk rooms in the country plus an espresso machine, fully-stocked bar, drying room and cedar hot tub. That’s the Mt Olympus difference – combining lowland simplicity and high society, comfort food and barista coffee, shovelling snow and smashing freshies.
Accommodation rates include dinner, bed, breakfast, and lunch the following day. Pre-purchase your lift passes to beat the queue. Bring a sleeping bag, pillowcase, towel, personal toiletries, and a change of clothes.
If you are after something a little more affordable, stay at the Bottom Hut, which is a Kiwi-style alpine hut with bunk beds, shower, log burner, and self-catered kitchen. It's an excellent alternative when the Top Hut is full or inaccessible. Please bring your own food (or go hungry — there are no options to buy provisions) plus a sleeping bag and other essentials.
