The Foster Park Duck Hunt

The 1st Rolleston Brownies have gone quackers! On Sunday 25th October, the First Rolleston Brownies will be hiding little resin ducks around the Foster Park Playground for you to find. Come on down from 10-11.30am and find yourself a duck or two to take home. There will be prizes for non-yellow ducks, shiny ducks and cowboy ducks too! Why are we hiding ducks? This year, GirlGuiding NZ launched Hero Badges as an initiative to further connect our girls to the community and raise funds towards fun activities, equipment, our units around the country and much more. The girls do most of the planning, creating and running of the event, which is a great way to encourage them to get out of their comfort zone, promotes independence and creates a sense of achievement. This year, the girls from 1st Rolleston Brownies have decided they would like to give back to the community while earning their Hero Badges. Not only will they be hiding ducks around the playground for free, they will have baking and handmade crafts for sale. They are so excited to bring this event to Rolleston. We would love to see families young and old for the Duck Hunt, so gather your flock of ducks and ducklings and come on down for a great community event. Please bring cash as we will not have any epftpos facilities available! If you cannot make it, you can still make a donation to the girls Hero Badge Fundraiser here - https://herobadge.girlguidingnz.org.nz/t/1st-rolleston-brownies (All planning has been done in accordance to the Selwyn District Council event guidelines and Health & Safety protocols)
