Porters Lodge

Head into the mountains for a getaway at Porters Lodge! We are nestled at the base of Porters Ski Area, right at the gateway into the Craigieburn Range. Originally a private ski lodge, Porters Lodge offers a warm and cozy home base for outdoor adventures in the area, or a memorable night’s stay in the mountains for travellers passing through.

Porters Lodge is fully serviced with a restaurant and bar, comfy rooms, camper van sites and on-site mountain biking. All you have to do is show up, and our friendly staff will look after you. 

Fill up on hearty food while you take in a stunning alpine vista at Porters Lodge. We are open to the public serving food and drinks every day from 10am-8pm.

Please note that the last 6km from Highway 73 to Porters Lodge is on an unsealed gravel road.

Porters Lodge offers accommodation year-round

Porters lodge offers accommodation for families and solo travellers alike in our comfortable, bunk-style rooms. Enjoy the authentic Kiwi ski lodge feeling, relax in the lounge and play rounds of pool and darts in our games room. 

If you’re exploring New Zealand in a camper van, you can spend the night against a beautiful mountain backdrop at the Porters Lodge camping area. 

Nightly rates start at:
$199 for a private room (sleeps up to 6 people)
$45 for dorm beds
$20 for non-powered camper van sites
$27 for powered camper van sites (only available during summer season)
