Open Garden Wednesday at Terrace Station

The team at Terrace Station is opening the gates for a special mid-week Open Garden Wednesday on 11 November. With so many different events in Canterbury during the month while the garden is looking its best, this extra opportunity to enjoy the serenity at Terrace Station will be a treat for garden lovers and those who simply enjoy time outside.

Some special flowers will be on show, including Paeonia veitchii, possibly Magnolia sieboldii and the well-established rhododendrons always look great under the huge trees in the garden. The 17-hectare plantation will also be open, and visitors can walk amongst the oaks, elms and sycamores.

Visitors can bring a picnic to enjoy in a sheltered corner of the garden and there are chairs available. Some home-grown woodland plants will be for sale (bring cash). The historic farming and gardening tools in the Hutch also give a glimpse of how work was done in this garden over 100 years ago.

The $15 entry fee goes towards maintenance of the garden and buildings. Please leave dogs at home. Eftpos is not available. The property will be signposted from the Hororata roundabout. Please check Facebook and Instagram in case of inclement weather.
