Known as the soul of New Zealand freeride skiing, the terrain is suited to intermediate to advanced skiers with mellow bowls and big mountain lines, entirely groomer free.

There’s a learner’s area but it requires an adventurous beginner to conquer the access rope tow.

The Top Hut offers ski-in, ski-out accommodation and is a popular place to stay with a lively and fun atmosphere. It’s fully catered and home of the famous Far Canal Bar and Mt O hot-tub.

Mt Olympus Ski Weeks are legendary and themed for all ages and stages.

Stay on the Mountain

Enjoy the alpine environment and ski-in ski-out options at Top Hut. Fully catered for breakfast, lunch and dinner with a fully catered bar. Pitch in and help the staff with chores while soaking up the atmosphere that’s world famous in the upper reaches of the Ryton Valley. Sit back by the log fire or take a soak in the hot tub.  The Bottom Hut located at the base of the My Olympus valley offers rustic, affordable, self-catered accommodation with bunk beds.

Mid-week 2-Night Stay

The perfect mini break for two-night package, it's available all season.

Mt Olympus Ski Area is located in the Craigieburn Range, accessible from Lake Coleridge. The facilities include a new mountain lodge offering fully catered accommodation, and cafe and bar. Lift access is by way of four rope tows, and the terrain is liked by skiers and snowboarders with an adventurous spirit, wanting less crowded slopes compared to the larger commercial ski areas. 

The best way to experience Mt Olympus is to stay in the lodge, with a 2-night stay, including accommodation, food and skiing. 

High clearance 4WD is recommended for the access road. Please remember to carry chains.

Costs for lift pass per day: Adult $110 / Student $60 / Junior (Under 18) $55

Mt Olympus Ski Area, located in the Craigieburn Range and accessed via Lake Coleridge, is renowned for its challenging natural terrain and off-piste skiing. Popular with adventurous skiers and snowboarders, it offers a unique alpine experience away from the crowds of larger commercial ski fields.

Facilities include a fully catered mountain lodge, café, and bar, while access to the slopes is provided by four rope tows 

The best way to experience Mt Olympus is to stay in the lodge, with a 3 night stay, including accommodation, food and skiing.

Gritt Camp at Mt Olympus

Gritt has run kids skiing and snowboarding camps since 2018, based in the Canterbury clubfields. The coaching team is world class, the camps are open access, and costs are minimised or waived to avoid pricing anyone out. These camps have reached kids who would otherwise be unsupported and grown the level of freeride in NZ, with kids qualifying and attending the Freeride Junior World Champs annually. The aim is an atmosphere that focuses on fun first, giving kids a smile on their face and new friends to ride with.

What to expect:
- 2 days of on snow coaching, with a range of world class coaches
- Small groups that run through skills including jumps and tricks, hitting cliffs, avalanche awareness, and choosing freeride lines. The focus will be on fun and getting in as much riding as possible. 
- Staying at lodging on the mountain overnight 
- Evening session covering athlete skills such as sponsorship, filming, and safety in the backcountry.

Cost: $250 for Gritt Camp + $92 for catered overnight accommodation (age U18) + lift tickets each day

Audience: Skiers and snowboarders aged roughly 12 – 20 who are interested in progressing their skiing and snowboarding, with a focus on freeride skills.

Start Each Day 9.00am. Finish 4.00pm + evening session on day 1

Spring Thing

Spring Thing is a week of skiing corn and enjoying the festivities of the evening activities, music, and good times. Spring Thing is set for 20-25th September, prime spring skiing time.

Final Frontier is a week of skiing with the family, perfect for first timers and the whole family, including the real little ones! This package has three types: 5-night, 3-night and 2-night for you to choose.

The best way to experience Mt Olympus is to stay in the lodge, including accommodation, food and skiing.  Final Frontier is the final week of the season, 4-9th October
