The Mountain House is the alpine specialist in Arthur's Pass. We provide all ranges of accommodation and can assist with gear storage, tramping information, plus provide a trampers shuttle to get you out there. We are within 2 hours of Christchurch.
We have a mixture of doubles, twins, triples, four bed rooms plus larger shared rooms as well. We have separate lodges on the Main Road if you have larger groups. Our facilities are all shared (bathrooms, kitchens and lounge areas). We have Internet access, either wireless or computer kiosks. Free tea, coffee, sugar and rolled oats (for your porridge) are available. Arthur's Pass is surrounded by Mountain peaks and the town is in the middle of the Arthur's Pass National Park. We are right on the Main Divide of the Southern Alps. Arthur's Pass is famous for the presence of the Alpine parrot, Kea around town and the surrounding forest is home to Great Spotted Kiwi.
