Tucked into the foothills of Canterbury, Knockdolian is a garden shaped by history, creativity, and care.

Established in 1939 and continually evolving, it blends majestic old trees with shrubs, roses, perennial borders filled with treasured plants, native plantings, and a productive orchard and vegetable garden.
Maintained without chemicals and guided by a respect for soil and wildlife, Knockdolian is a relaxed, living landscape. Secluded corners invite quiet reflection, while wide open views to the mountains create a sense of space and freedom. More a personal canvas than a formal showpiece, the garden is a place of peace and passion, a landscape that grows and changes as my own ideas evolve, where the natural world is valued as deeply as the beauty of the plants themselves.
Tours are by appointment only.
