The Craigieburn ski field transforms when the snow melts: it welcomes summer bookings from 1 November to 1 May, offering a completely different alpine experience compared to its winter operations.

Summer at Craigieburn
The mountains don't stop being beautiful when the snow melts. From 1 November, the Craigieburn lodges are available to hire for groups looking to escape into the Canterbury high country- just 1.5 hours from Christchurch.
The Craigieburn Forest Park is home to some genuinely special trails. Mountain bikers can take on the Edge Track, a challenging 3.6km singletrack that winds through native beech forest and opens out to panoramic views of the Southern Alps. Walkers are spoilt too, with everything from gentle forest strolls to full-day ridge-line adventures.
Wake up to birdsong, breathe clean mountain air, and have the trails virtually to yourselves. No crowds, no noise- just the good kind of quiet.
The lodge is available for groups of all kinds: family getaways, mountain biking crews, retreats, school groups and more. Head to craigieburn.co.nz to find out more and enquire about availability.

Craigieburn Valley Ski Area in winter is a rugged ski area offering steep, ungroomed terrain, three rope tows, and a tight-knit community atmosphere perfect for confident intermediate and expert skiers
