Quickenberry is an ideal place to go and explore the multiple ski fields and walking tracks in Selwyn. After a hearty breakfast at the guesthouse and a day in the stunning Alps you will be welcomed back with a roaring fire and aperitif in the lounge. This is followed by our famous 3 or 4 coursed evening meal made with locally produce or sourced venison, salmon or beef.  Retire to the fireside and enjoy a fine whisky or more wine. It is an experience like no other in this region. You might even believe you are actually staying in a chalet in the Swiss Alps! It is cosy, intimate and very peaceful.

Introducing our Level 2 “Burst Your Bubble Without Bursting Your Bubble” experience! You don’t share the ride with anyone else. It’s our way to introduce you and your family to this uniquely Kiwi invention as safely as possible.

Porters Ski Area

Hororata Golf Club

Hororata Golf Club and Willows Cafe is one of the most picturesque 18 hole country course in Canterbury, set along the terraces of the Selwyn River in Glentunnel.  Players of all abilities and group bookings are welcome, green fees are $25 per round.  Clubs days are Saturdays and Tuesday with Friday afternoon 12 hole competitions open for everyone.  The Club has an onsite Cafe, The Willows Cafe at Glentunnel, which operates 7 days a week and the Glentunnel Holiday Park is situated right next door.
